Air Force Cuts Off Boko Haram Supply

The Nigerian Air Force says its patrol and surveillance activities have succeeded in blocking routes through which petroleum products and other materials are supplied to the  Boko Haram sect.
The Air Force on Wednesday intercepted over 4,000 drums and jerrycans of petroleum products and other smuggled items, which it said were suspected deliveries to the terrorist group.
Addressing reporters, the Director, Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Dele Alonge, said patrols along the Nigeria-Cameroon borders “have greatly strained the supply efforts of the Boko Haram terrorists”.

The items, according to Mr Alonge, were confiscated from smugglers in Pepe, Dahin-Hausa, Belel, Bilachi and Konkul villages, all located along Nigerian-Cameroon borders.
The Nigerian Air Force Director said the products were discovered through aerial patrol covering land and sea.
“Efforts are ongoing to ensure that every help available to the terrorists are truncated,” he added.
The supply  interception is coming just as the Nigerian government is making efforts to strengthen collaboration with neighbouring Cameroon in the counter-terrorism operations.
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari had met with his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya, to discuss efforts that both nations could make to end the activities of the Boko Haram along their common border.
