Troops prosecuting the war on terror in the North-East have arrested of 33 suspected food suppliers to Boko Haram terrorists in Damboa axis around Azir-Wajiroko Road, Borno State.
The suspects were arrested with large quantities of food stuff meant for Boko Haram terrorists at Korode.
Making the disclosure in a statement, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sani Usman, said: “Nine of the 33 suspects are from Korode, five from Auma, 10 from Geargube, four from Kausautaya, four from Bulbul and one from Dolomi villages.
“Although some of the suspects claimed to be traders, they did not, however, deny selling food items to the terrorists. Interrogation is still ongoing to further unravel the level of invol-vement of the suspects.
“During clearance operations of Boko Haram hideouts, troops have discovered and successfu-lly destroyed Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, at Sandia village along Korode Road.”
